Course NR 33 - Confined Spaces: Entrant, Watch Attendant and Supervisor

Description

Confined space is any area or environment not designed for continuous human occupancy, which has limited entrance and exit means, where existing ventilation is insufficient to remove contaminants or where there may be deficiency or oxygen enrichment and / or other risks arising from geometry of the site or of several factors.

Purpose

To present in a theoretical and practical way to staff who interact directly or indirectly in confined spaces in diverse functions, the necessary concepts to recognize, evaluate and monitor the existing risks in this activity, to properly use the necessary equipment, to develop the appropriate techniques and to take the required control measures, being aware of their responsibilities regarding the safety of the operations and the people involved in them, and training them in a personalized way on all the required aspects.

Training Levels

Authorized Staff and Watch Attendant - Beginner Level (16 hours)

Purpose: To present in a theoretical and practical way to the staff who interact directly in the confined spaces the necessary concepts about the existing risks in this activity and the control measures required, the functioning of the equipment used, and their rights and duties, enabling them in a personalized way to act with due safety in the performance of their duties.

Training Content: In accordance with the provisions of sub-item 33.3.5.4 of NR-33 - MTPS.

Level: Beginner

Duration: 16 hours

Entry Supervisor - Beginner Level (40 hours)

Purpose: To present in a theoretical and practical way to the staff entitled as Entry Supervisors in confined spaces the necessary concepts as to recognize, evaluate and monitor the existing risks in this activity and take the required control measures, making them aware of their responsibilities regarding the safety of the operations and the people involved in them, and enabling them in a personalized manner on the completion of the Entry and Work Permit (PET) and other required aspects.

Training Content: In accordance with sub-items 33.3.5.4 and 33.3.5.5 of NR-33-MTPS.

Level: Beginner

Duration: 40 hours

Authorized Worker, Watch Attendant and Entry Supervisor - Periodic - Recycling (8 hours)

Purpose: To meet the normative requirement of periodic training every twelve months, reviewing in a dynamic way - in theory and in practice - the contents of the initial training, clarifying doubts, addressing pertinent revisions or modifications in the period from the initial training and making suggestions for continuous improvements in systems related to managing and performing work in confined spaces.

Training Content: In accordance with the provisions of sub-item 33.3.5 of NR-33 - MTPS and Portaria N ° 1,409 / 2012 ..

Level: Option to administer the course for all the staff together, or separately for Staff / Watch Attendants and Supervisors.

Duration: 08 hours (Optional: 16 hours)

Technical Rescue in Confined Spaces - Basic Level (24 hours)

Purpose: To raise awareness and instruct in a theoretical and practical way, including simulation, students already trained in Confined Space Safety and with the required physical and mental aptitude, regarding the necessary concepts about the perception of the existing risks in performing rescue in confined spaces and the control and protection measures, the use of appropriate equipment, adequate techniques for the initial assessment and handling victims, and procedures and tactics for their rescue.
Focusing on the importance of teamwork and on the role and responsibility of each rescuer in performing highly complex simulated activities, appropriate to the various types of emergency; as well as approaching advanced procedures regarding examination and assistance to the victims.

Training Content: In accordance with the provisions of sub-item 33.4 of NR-33 and NR 35-MTPS, Ordinance N ° 1,409 / 2012, NBR 14787 and other technical standards, and best practices.

Advanced level

Duration: 40 hours

Training Internal Multipliers in Confined Spaces - Basic Level (24 hours)

Purpose: To raise awareness and instruct in a theoretical and practical manner, including simulations, students with experience as Entry Supervisors in Confined Spaces and with the required physical and mental aptitude, in the capacity to perform the role of training and rescue internal multipliers in confined spaces.
With regard to the pedagogical aspect, to perform the role and profile of an Instructor, resources for learning, lesson planning and preparation of presentations, teaching techniques, training and learning processes, group work tips and responsibilities of the Instructor.
For the training role of Staff, Watch Attendants and Entry Supervisors, dynamically review in theory and practice the contents of the initial training, clarifying doubts, performing pertinent revisions or modifications during the period since the initial training.

Training Content: In accordance with NR 33 and NR 35 - MTPS, Ordinance No. 1,409 / 2012, NBR 14787 and other technical standards, and best practices.

Basic level

Duration: 24 hours

Training Internal Multipliers in Confined Spaces - Advanced Level (40 hours)

Purpose: To raise awareness and instruct in a theoretical and practical manner, including simulations, students with experience as Entry Supervisors in Confined Spaces and with the required physical and mental aptitude, in the capacity to properly perform the role of training and rescue internal multipliers in confined spaces.
With regard to the pedagogical aspect, to perform the role and profile of an Instructor, resources for learning, lesson planning and preparation of presentations, teaching techniques, training and learning processes, group work tips and responsibilities of the Instructor.
For the training role of Staff, Watch Attendants and Entry Supervisors, dynamically review in theory and practice the contents of the initial training, clarifying doubts, performing pertinent revisions or modifications during the period since the initial training.
For the role related to training rescuers, review in detail the necessary concepts about the perception of existing risks related to rescue in confined spaces and the measures of control and protection, the use of the appropriate equipment, the appropriate techniques regarding the initial examination and handling of victims and procedures and tactics for their rescue, focusing on the importance of teamwork during the simulation.

Training Content: In accordance with NR 33 and NR 35 - MTPS, Ordinance No. 1,409 / 2012, NBR 14787 and other technical standards, and best practices.

Advanced level

Duration: 40 hours

Note: Confined Space Safety and Safety at Height courses can be taught throughout the country with the M.I.R.T. Simulator (Premium Service) or without the Simulator, but providing some equipment if necessary (Basic Service), both for closed classes and for open classes.
